Accounts Assistant 
Hours: Part-time – 20 hours per week, flexibility on days worked 
Duration: Permanent 
Salary: £25,000 per annum FTE 
Location: Kettering Northamptonshire 

The Role 

We are looking for a highly motivated Account Assistant to help run the day-to-day of the department and assist where needed. The successful candidate must have a good working knowledge of Sage, a basic knowledge of accounting principles including journals and accruals. It is essential that the individual has excellent attention to detail and good verbal and written communication skills. 

Main Duties 

Responsibility for maintaining the purchase ledger by the processing of supplier invoices through Sage and updating the paperless filing system. 
Keeping the Sales Ledger updated by processing sales invoices through Sage and maintaining the computerised filing system. 
Reconciliation of multiple bank accounts. 
Maintaining integrity between the customer management system and the accounting system by daily journals and reconciliations. 
Assisting with Credit Control. 
Analysis and posting of company credit card payments. 
Assisting in the preparation of monthly management reports. 
Any other ad hoc accounting and admin duties/tasks as and when required within the finance department. 

Qualification / Experience 

Experience of using Sage 
Sound knowledge of Excel 
Experience of working in an accounts department is preferable 
Quick learner 
AAT qualified, part qualified or being willing to work towards accreditation 
Able to communicate at all levels 
Proven ability of working to deadlines
